Problems creating backups for my PSX games
Alright I dunno where to put this so i put it here since i plan on using the back up version with my emulator. Now, I'm trying to burn Fear Effect 2, using CDRWIN. I'm using the settings given from *****, and these settings worked for many backups for my PS games. The disk reading gets 5% in and then suddenly says "Error: Unable to read Data sectors 16011 to 16037 on device 0:0:0 Illegal command request (04h 00h 02h 05h 67h 00h).
What does this mean? I managed to burn games before, some even protected but i don't even think Fear Effect 2 is protected. any tips? (plus i tried d/ling CloneCD and they came out with this new version where you can't change any of the settings needed to backup PSX cd's. I found a patch at *****, which said something about a Liscense Fix, which I'm guessing is the problem. What I need to know is how to use this patch. Btw I bought the game today from someone but its scratched alot. I'm planning on using it for my ePSXe. The original game also works for ePSXe. I tried Nero and the settings from PSXtutorials.com and it still freeze at 5%, then at the details it says something about illegal request and stuff. The license patch would probably work, but I don't know how to use it. anyone help? Also, does anyone know how to use ISO Buster? I managed to extract the files from the disk to my computer and then burned it to a disk, however it still won't work. ----------------------- Shouldn't put in that link... - ES Last edited by Evil Squall; June 22nd, 2002 at 07:51. |

Um Chris2002, please don't mention Mega***** here on these boards. You see, they deal with illegal material and that is not allowed on these boards. I'm not going to shut this thread, since you do own the originals and you are new. But I would ask that you read the rules and that you don't mention this place again.
Thanks alot and welcome to the boards. sincerely, sx/amiga ----------------------- Uh... wierd... - ES Last edited by Evil Squall; June 22nd, 2002 at 07:45. |

I'm not new, there's something wrong with my account and the admin's won't fix it for some reason even though I've messaged them countless times through email and ICQ.
Now then, its not like I downloaded a game or anything, I just downloaded a patch, thats not illegal is it? |

Have you tried Isobuster, as Shiori said? It's easy to use, and it's free. Shiori posted above the link for the Tutorial made by Fou-lu on how to make PSX CD images with Isobuster.

I wouldn't have looked at ****.com in the first place, but now that you all say it offers lots of illegal stuff, you know, you made me curious...

Try BlindWrite. It's good for damaged CDs or CDs with bad sectors. It can also get past most copy protection schemes.

BlindWrite, huh? Any other good progs for damaged CDs? I have a few that work fine when you play them, but have a small scratch that prevents me from dumping them. I would really like to get working images, though.

try diskjuggler, it has an option to ignore errors, then you convert the image from cdi format to nero, and just burn...
Search cdi2nero.zip in google.com

Really great tutorial and links, but I need to do something related to this...
I need to do this in reverse...What I mean is, I have a game (X-Files) thats really old and scratched so badly I can't play it. I downloaded the ISO for one of the disks (there are 4 disks total). Is it possible to put this ISO onto a CD that will work on my PS2? Or even just a PSX? Once again, I DO own the game, it's just scratched to hell. Thanks |
