Windows XP is the only Windows that I like. ePSXe works perfect, but there are issues with other programs. XP is great for its stability though. I am thinking of dual booting Win XP/Linux this summer, but that is going to be an exercise in patience, since I will have to reformat my second partition again, and that means backing up about 6GB of data.

Emulation on win200/xp is much more stable than 98/me. I would recomend anyone to change of make a dual boot. I wish CVS worked on Xp/win2000.

There are no more blue screens of death and you don't have to reboot as often.

I format almost every 3 months. And I have about 10 GB of data. I must have a lot of patience.

This summer, I will triple-boot my PC with Xp, 98 and Linux. I have 2 HDs and on one I have Linux and the other XP and 98. What I'm going to try this time is to create the dual boot with 98 and XP and when I install everything from CDs (eg. Drivers, etc. before installing stuff from the Internet), I'm going to make an image of my drive. That way, when I go to reformat, I don't have to reconfigure anything or install the programs again. I just pop in the boot disk and CDs (which will be about 2 CDs for one drive) and it will restore my computer to that point. That could save you a alot of time, I hope.

epsxe works good on XP... if you want to dual boot your PC... do it... but if you don't have enough space for others... epsxe is the best...

PSMPlay, PSXMC and Snes9xW work in XP. PSMPlay 0.4 is kinda unstable thought.

PSMPlay is not too stable on XP?? OK....Not that big of a problem. PSXMC does almost everything thar PSMPlay does anyway. The only thing is that Segu's software lets you go from XA directly to MP3 (provided that you have the L.A.M.E. dll file). When I get the new computer I play around with it for a day or two and see how it reacts ot XP. Let me know if your interested in heaing from me about the results.

I actually got around to doing it, but I still just didn't want to face backing up all my stuff. I used Partition Magic, and it just rules. I made 2 more partitions, and I am dual booting Windows XP/Mandrake 8.2. Partition Magic just rules.

At least 0.4 isn't. The program works, but tends to crash very easily.

Fine. Like I said before, when I have a day off from work I play around with it for a few hours. If worse comes to worse I can allways try 0.3 - its a small DL. If that doesn't work PSXMC is fine for going from STR to uncompressed AVI. From there perhaps I'll make them into DIVX avi or perhaps I make them into a VideoCD. My understanding is that the Roxio burning SW that's coming with my new Evo does pretty well at creating VCD.
Regards,
Bill "The Colonel" N. - New York
