need help
@first...Hi all I am new to the emulators scene, my PSX is broken, and its impossible to repair it so, because i still love my PSX games, i wanted to emulate them.I have a AMD Athlon Thunderbird 900Mhz with 256 MB SDRAM and a TNT2 M64 32 Mb Graphics card which emu would fit best to my system and would have the best compatibility? I tryed some, but the plug-in system is driving me crazy, either the Emu wont work or it has major problems, and its unplayable. So...could someone tell me, which emu should i use and which Plug-Ins? Oh yes, because i OWN a REAL PSX, its fully legal, if i have the PSX BIOS image, so, any help, which version, or how to find it? I readed the rules, and i think this post fits in the rules. Thanx if someone will help

vgs is very compatible (except with win2k -_-') but i would suggest epsxe, you need to find a bios (search on google, naturally it can be extracted from your psx, but since you have one i guess its legal anyways) and get some nevessary plugins to play most games, try finding pete's site and download his video and sound plugins, you also need a cd rom plugin, i think you can find most of em right here at ngemu... somewhere

i have Win98 SE, a 32x CD-Rom (a CD-RW, it has 4 times higher audio extraction rate as my 50x CD-Rom, funny, it works MUCH better) about extracting, my PSX is totally broken (i broaght it to a company, which should repair it, the CD-Drive was broken, now i cant even start it) so, i wont be able to extract it that easy, but its still legal so, i should use all Pete's Plug-Ins, and find a CD-Rom plug-in? here is the link to Pete's page... http://home.t-online.de/home/PeteBernert/ could someone tell me, exactly which plug-ins i should use? i wanted to play (i have 40 games for PSX) MGS Gex1,2,3 Crash Bandicoot 1,2,3 Croc 1 Spyro 1 Akuji the heartless Soul Blade Tekken 2,3 Ace Combat 2 that are some of my favorite games

Epsxe has a built in cd-r plug in, i suggest you use those, as for gpu plug-ins use pete's(v1.60) since my old tnt2 vanta seem to work well on them. And for sounds use eternal's spu plug-in. If u wonna play games in iso format extract them first using isobuster.

Good job, just try and tinker with the graphic setting's til you get better results, as for the sounds this could be caused by the game itself since not all sounds are emulated perectly. If all your games are having the same problem i suggest you switch to another sound plug-in.

Your CD-Rom should already read PSX discs. Force aspi is here.
