Man, you really need to upgrade your cpu. It's the only thing that's keeping you from playing psx games.

I know I'm new in here and all, but can I just barge in...Thanx
![]() As mentioned above, get an upgrade...If you're short for cash consider getting an ASUS motherboard, you can get one (albeit not the nwest) for around a 100$. Put in a Duron cpu (u can easily get 1GhZ for less than 45$) and get some more ram. Ram is your friend Unless you're picky, you don't have to get new gfx & sound cards yet...Just an opinion (that's likely to get me flamed )

something extra to add here if your going to upgrade...
you will need to purchase a new case and power supply too, 1996-class computers like yours used AT/Baby AT form factor casings and power supplies. All Pentium II computers and higher use ATX form factor, which is incompatible with the older format. (btw there is now ATX 2.0 for pentium 4...something that's good to know if you decide to go with intel) |

Since this isn't ePSXe specific (and if you have a computer like the second one, why in the world are you playing on the old junker?), I'll move this to misc psx emu discussion.

why? good question....im sposed to review software and find out what the minimum requirements are for a site I work for.Thats why.
So far I've tried everything except for the few that u guys have siuggested and none have worked, hell an N64 emulater worked well (60fps on Doom64) I don't see why none of the PSX emulaters work...hmmmmm.... |

I think Bleem is your best bet, it's probably the only psx emulator that can run decently on your system. VGS is also very fast but, like you said, it requires an MMX processor.
BTW, what CPU do you have? I would think a 200 Mhz CPU would at least have MMX instructions.

I think the Pentium Pros don't have MMX instructions.
And Lacan's quite gutsy there in putting an MX 200 in such a computer.

Pro's don't. I remember having a quad Pentium Pro 200 machine back when I had a K6-2 350. We had problems running Delta Force *Shudders* on it as it required MMX.

hmmm
To be honest..your best bet will be the next release of AdriPSX..This sucker can run on an old 486 with 16megs of ram...and since you have a GeForce installed you should get minimal resource usage when using OpenGL...plus you have plenty of ram...The author kind of deviced the emulator with the low end PC user in mind...
AdriPSX minimum requirements Required: * Windows 95/98/ME, NT (SP4), XP or 2000. * DirectX Sound Compatible Hardware. * PC 80486, Pentium, Pentium II, Pentium III, Celeron, or any compatible processor. (300 MHz at least are highly recommended). * 16 MB of RAM at least.(32 MB are recommended). * 10 MB of hard drive space. * 16-bit video card (3D-Card is highly recommended). * 8x or faster CD-ROM or desktop DVD-ROM drive. PSinex ----------- * Pentium 2 @ 350 MHz * 8MB Graphics Card (D3D Capable) * 4x CD-ROM Drive * Sound Blaster Compatible * Microsoftゥ DirectX 6.1 EPSXE Minimum system requirements: P200MMX or compatible 32 MB of RAM Fast graphic card (like the voodoo 2) Cdrom x16 Win9x DirectX 7a |
