Welcome to todays world of lazy windows users who are even too dumb to read a manual or even click some files.

Oh yeah, VGS doesn't work on winXP ... bleem! won't fit your needs as it isn't compatible enough ... and the rest requires you to use your brain - PSX emus certainly aren't something for you therefor.

Try VGS, although you might have a hard time finding it as it's a commercial but discontinued project.
And it doesn't work on WinXp...

Since you have XP, you are stuck with emus that use plugins. I would also recommend ePSXe.

Emulation is not something really for noobs, but if you can actualy be ****ed to use plugins, ePSXe is really your only choice.

Psinex is developed on winXP, FPSE, ePSXe, AdriPSX, PCSX and the other freeware emus work fine on winXP.
You have to spend a bit of time learning how to use and configure them.
Emulation isn't for gamers, is for interested people=P
(at least that was time ago)

yep yep, I use emulators because I'm interested in how it works, more so than for gaming purposes. Once they are perfected, perhaps I will acctually play.

(though I am currently playing FFIX on ePSXe and am about half way through.)

There are still some compat issues, but I think ZSnes is about as perfect as you expect an emu to be.

Well, a lot of games (of SNES) did not work on Zsnes like C4 chip or SPC 7110 audio chip emulation, but they were fixed as the Zsnes project progress, maybe for some more time 100% will be achieved, well for Zsnes I suppose - but wouldn't 99% be good enough? Be grateful they are working pro bono.
