Transferring save games from Memory Card

Hello, could someone kindly direct me to a link or some info on transferring my PS1 save games from my Memory Card to my computer? I read about using the SharkPort 2 or something, but I'm not too sure about it...

Any info? Trying to play my savegames from the memory card on my emulator..

Thanks!

you need a dexdrive (DexDrive - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) to do the transfer and then use a utility like what is linked to below to convert the saves into the proper format that the emulator can read.

If you have a PS2, use uLaunchelf.

I do have a ps2, with ps1 and ps2 memory cards...I read that you can use any flash drive, as long as you have the necessary software?

And, does this mean that something like the SharkPort is out?

I read a little bit about creating 'boot disks' to flash to and from the memory card, kind of like flashing a BIOS...isn't that what uLaunchelf is? If so...sounds like a little too much work. In the guide I was looking through I think there was like 4 or 5 utilites and plugins used in the process xD

Thanks for the info, guys!

If I'm not mistaken, you can use a PS2 action replay as well.

Hm, the only problem I've read about, if I'm correct, is that the Sharkport has trouble dealing with PS1 save games. Basically I've got a ps1 memory card I'm using on a PS2. should that be ok since they are on the ps1 mem card?

I'll look into the PS2AR too, thanks!

You can copy PS1 saves to the PS2 card, and then I think you can move the saves with AR to your PC. That or I think you can make a backup image of your memcard, which you could then use MyMC for PCSX2 to extract the save from the memcard.

That sounds ideal, I'll have to look around for confirmation that copying my ps1 games to my ps2 card, then to my comp via AR will not corrupt them! Have you done this before yourself?

Thanks for all the help and info! Since I am using primarily a ps1 mem card, I could probably use a dex drive, too. not sure though!

I've copied my PS1 saves to my ps2 cards before, but I don't recall trying to xfer them to the PC with AR. I'll have to find my AR disk..

Thanks for helping me out with this, Dax :P

I downloaded MemcardRex 0.9, I suppose either way I will need this to convert the games to be readable by the emulator, right?

I also have a disc image archive of the ARMaxPS2 software...I think I read that you can use this to transfer files without the hardware, using a USB flash drive or something. Maybe I'm confused about that, I didn't read all that thoroughly about it, just picked up the file along the way 'just in case'.

Thanks again!
