Broken Grandia kit is repaired and released HERE

Now I find that FF7 is broken.
...
That kit is taken down and deprecated to preview status for archival notes.

Apologies to everyone for wasting your time.

I thought I tested that kit. :o

Extract checklist:
- cd1
- cd2

Run cd2dvd.bat

Then move files to merge directory

Merge Checklist:
- (root) MOV01-MOV20
- (batl1)
- (batl2)
- (bin)
- (fiel1)
- (fiel2)
Check all these files to be >1 GB before building.

EDIT:
Checked this thoroughly. It should be working.
Re-dumping my CDs and will test the kit again.

EDIT2:
Just tried it. Everything worked great.

Toolkit troubleshoot ticket

If you've got a problem, try downloading this program. It'll create a rcd (txt) directory listing.

Create a listing of each CD (1-4) and the merge folder after you're done extracting + cd2dvd patching.

Post the results in this thread and someone can take a look if the extraction didn't work correctly. It's possible that the kit is broken.

Also a reaquest for Wild Arms 2 if/when you might have time and be willing.

Thanks for the report - good to know when something does work. Usually it's the 'disc swap' area that I'm normally worried about. But these games can do unusual quirks outside that area.

Wild Arms 2 - sure. Just gotta ask the shop about buying some discs and I'll create a preview build sometime. Then a release build later (see backlog). ;p

Probably have the Rebel Assault kit released on Oct 1.

Ok, here's a question, Is there any reason to not use the standard ePSXe to run merged game images from the HD rather then burning the images to a DVD? I've been playing Chrono Cross with the standard version and haven't found any issues.

Any standard (official) ePSXe / pSX can run the merged games (except FFVIII / FFIX) from HDD. Or from a DVD / BD disc. Really no noticeable difference (other than moving parts).

ePSXe_dvd5 is meant for FFVIII / FFIX - there's no other way to play them. You need to use the included CDROM plugins for the DVD / BD / virtual drive. Or Run ISO for the HDD.

I use it heavily though since I like to keep my laptop a tad cooler when fast-forwarding (Pete's throttling hits me at 100% CPU usage).

Get the latest 7-zip and download the kit again. Verified - there's no password. None of these kits should have one.

Please also remember that Lunar 2 is not fully tested (done) by me so you might get a bug or two.

FF8 is now done and dusted. v1 users should get the upgrade kit to fix the disc swap (permanently).

New v2 users will be happy to learn that the disc extracting is much faster now.

FF7 is about 65-70% done, Alone4 is 50% finished.

Syphon Filter 2 is in 'unreleased finished preview' stage and Fear Effect 1 (DVD5) is the same status. In Cold Blood is on hold until I actually fully play and fix it later.

Thanks for all your feedback and support.

FF7 should now be final.

The original kit was broken and moved to 'preview' status. No upgrade kit is possible.
