Depends what your playing and how you want to play it. You can play epsxe to make it look better etc. or psxemu if you want the original experience.

Well, the onew who are compatible with most ps1 games are ePSXe and pSX emulator.

ePSXe uses plugins, which is harder to config, but render better quality image/sound.

pSX, on the other hand, is easier to configure, but renders images on native resolution of ps1.

Any psemupro-architected emulator coupled with Pete's plugins (look at ePSXe).

Noobs will find pSX the most comfortable to use (and easiest).


More importantly, don't ask what's best. Try and see which you prefer (people here mentioned only their preferences). Each has their own view about what's best. The best is always what works best for you!

if only bleem still updated

any psemupro emu gives good graphics combined with pete plugins. like HCR said, the best is ssspsx IMO.

VGS the best, fast, easy, it's Insert & Play drivin. quite impressive.. but software rendered graphics ugly lil bit.

finally the worst of all is VBA-M

sooooorrrrrrrryyyy i broke the psx core in the non psx emulator.
