hi i hope someone could help me out with my problem here: i had windows millenium and yesterday i upgraded the system. i booted the new system and the psjoy worked swell. however later on i encountered problems in win xp itself so i had to reinstall win xp (a new install) when i re installed it the psjoy didnt work. even when i install it's drivers. if the usb cable from the psjoy is not plugged to the computer i don't see a joystick. if it's in i see a joystick and windows says it's ok, however : whether or not i got the gamepad itself connected to the psjoy convertor it still displays the msg "ok" and when i double click it automatically press right on all possible buttons... i.e. i try to config epsxe : every key i choose to config it maps it for right direction key in the joystick... PLEASE HELP! ANYONE ENCOUNTERED THIS PROB IN XP AS WELL? tia

I'm having the same trouble with my PSJoy... I contacted tech support to see if they have any fixes, or driver updates for XP. I'll let you know what I find out... *UPDATE* Well, that wasn't much help... they just told me the adapter isn't supported under winXP yet... all we can do is hope for a driver release... If you're talking about the Blaze PSJoy adapter, you might try the installation method for Windows 2000; since Windows XP is so similar, it might give some success. First, install the generic Human Interface Device driver when prompted to install a driver for your adaptor (when its first plugged in). After that, go to the Device Manager via Setup in the Control Panel and "update" the driver to the driver set you recieved. It shouldn't nag you anymore, and the keys should work correctly. I had upgraded to Windows 2000 from '98, and had this problem myself. Another thing to keep in mind is if you have a Sidewinder joystick -- I own one, and it wreaks havoc on every adaptor I own when its drivers are installed, causing random buttom presses and foobaring the joystick alignment. Hope this helps some. |

I just used the default driver with Windows XP it works great, except that I have no force feedback. Mind you I didn't have any with Windows 98 either. I have tried the actual drivers, but they don't help that problem much. The important thing is that my gamepad does work under XP. |

Well, I had my PSJoy working for awhile, under XP... all I did was not install the drivers XP's HID-compliant drivers took care of it. But after awhile, ePSXe quit recognizing button events from my pad... I dunno what's up... the pad works find in any other app though :/
