Best PSX emulator?

what is the absolute best psx emulator? bleem 1.5B i have, VGS 1.4 full version i have but is corrupted right now. and any others that are good? or should i just get a psx game enhancer? what is the best choice? bleem 1.5B works great on my friends pc but on mine it sucks. it doesn't enhance anything and KOF99 looks worse than playing on my psx. is it because i have a 8MB graphic card? does VGS run every game, all my games i tried on VGS and it runs perfectly, and KOF99 has better graphics on VGS then than Bleem. so if i could get VGS back again and get the patch to play burn games, i can save money witout buying a new graphic card. anybody has suggestions? i'm thinking bout buying a psx enhancer if i can't get the emulators to work out right.

psx enhancer...isnt that a thingie to improve graphics on the psx console? I heard it doesnt really do a lot.

www.aldostools.com has patches to let VGS play backup cds. bleem is quite a bit outdated. There's the much better epsxe emulator nowadays, but it might be slow with just an 8mb graphics card. As for VGS, it doesnt enhance psx games, just displays them as they are, but it looks more pixelated on a monitor than it does on a tv. Your 8mb card sure isnt enough for bleem, and especially not for kof99; that's a 2D game, and 2D games arent enhanced much with an emulator. As for 3d games, they are enhanced, but I had a 12MB voodoo2 and for many games that still wasnt enough video memory in bleem. in epsxe it will probably be just slow, unless you have a really fast processor.

Bleem ? vgs ? Where you live ?

I guess you heard about something called epsxe or other plugin based emulators which are free and definitely much better than anything else around.

Epsxe is by far the best and will be even better with the next version.

i got the emulator, here's the problem, i try to run my game and it says config video. so i try to do it, and there's nothin there, there's no list of video cards in the droplist so how can i config anything? what am i suppose to do? does epsxe run burn games too? so if i get a 32MB card like my friend, then i should run bleem with no problem right?

Doesn't anyone read the documents that come with epsxe?.. It's all pretty much explained as to the usage of epsxe and it's pluggins.. Or is that just too hard to even contemplate.. The pluggins has their own documents too..

I guess most people are just use to easy stuff like click and play like bleem and CVGS.. But still.. Those emus come with documents too.. You would think that the documents would help explain how to use it.. Guess not..

You can insert a boot disk in your floppy drive, restart, and at the a: prompt type "format C:" choose yes, and all your problems will be gone. really.

....sometimes the best solution is to get rid of worn out stuff like your current install of windows.

You can try cleaning your reader if you haven't done so in a long time.

In my opinion the only Playstation emulator is VGS, as all it does it try to recreate the Playstation nothing extra.
Every other emulator from bleem! to ePSXe are Playstation enhancers.
Also I have to ask what is this love affair people seem to have with ePSXe. While it is extremely impressive with its enhancements to games, it is also a pain to configure. While I am not knocking the efforts of the plugin creators, for the average gamer it takes far to long to get to playing the games, which in the end is the point of emulation.

DB7: Most emulators are not "easy" to use like VGS. However, part of the thrill of the other emulators is getting the configurations down and then playing games in what are generally significantly improved versions of the original games. However, you are right. VGS is the best emulator; the other ones are enhancers.

IMO.. Epsxe is the best playstation EMULATOR and then some..

1.. It's FREE
2.. Makes games look like this...
3.. I like that I can set and configure things the way I like to get the best quality emulation.. I like tweaking..
4.. Did I mention, It's FREE?..
5.. Epsxe stands for Enhanced Psx Emulator..

I guess you average gamers are missing a lot.. Oh and VGS doesn't work on WinXp..

I agree with prafull and fivefeet8 here...as for people who want to play a game and configure nothing, I recommend to get a console; absolutely no sweat! Even with pc games, I like to get the max. out of them and usually I spend quite some time configuring them to get them running as good as possible.

The only problem with VGS is that the sound blows.

I play a lot of games on VGS, compared to epsxe. I prefer accuracy over eye candy, I want to experience the game was it was meant to be played, especially now that I don't have a psx anymore. Plus a lot of my psx games are 2D and VGS runs those flawlessly. I mainly use epsxe for Chrono Cross and Final Fantasy 9, it'd be a shame to miss the great graphics in those games.
