1. find pssdemux or pssplex and mfaudio. 2. demultiplex any streams that you want. 3. the demultiplex will give you 2 files. delete the audio file as it's garbage. 4. use mfaudio to extract the real audio from the streams. 5. use tmpegenc or virtual dub to combine both audio and video. and you'll get your ffx-2 videos! it's not that hard, wasn't it? maybe it'll work with shadow hearts I & II...........maybe. anyway, i've just used gigahertz's tool to extract mpegs from Fatal Frame II. it was awesome!

. And I really wanted the audio on those clips. When I use Gigahertz's tool, still no audio. Which leads me to believe that the audio is encoded weird.) And the method you outlined above would probably work for Shadow Hearts 2, it's just that I can't find the pss files. No method that I've tried so far actually works to find them.

Some Info
I'm new to the forum but I gave your program a shot. It worked pretty well when trying to extract xenosaga files. Using the ps2play program allowed me to view it and hear the sounds but the sound was very garbled. I then tried using a pss extractor and extracted the wav file but that was also very garbled. It happens on any video i try to extract. Does anyone know a way to fix the audio while extracting? Would greatly appreciate it

GiGaHeRz, I'm not trying to take away from your tool with this guide, if it seems like I am.

This program looks pretty sweet with the screenshots that I've seen. I just beat Devil May Cry 3 and have seen alot of the cutscenes and Motion capture videos that I would love to be able to view on my PC. I tried to use this program and it never seemed to even start spinning the disc I'm using the P.E. opS CDVD driver 1.2 and it seems to be configured correctly, but when I start it up, it makes my system hang for about a minute every 5 minutes Maybe its just the disc thats unable to be used, Anyone else tried this game yet? Thanks for any info |

This is a little off subject(extracting music instead of FMVs) but, does anyone know of a program like Nova Software extractor that can find midi "soundfont" type files. I have extracted the in-game music from Xenosaga 2 but, it is in midi format so without the right sample and instrument set it sounds like crap. It is probably in a different format like MOD DLS or RIFF(none of these show up in Nova, but there may be other formats) but im sure there is a way to convert it to a soundfont or a program that can play the midis with the proper samples, so all I need is to find this file and extract it. Ironically Psound can extract the samples as wav(well at least 713 of them, there may be more) but they are sill useless without the proper 'instruments' to set them to specific channels. I figure that since the tracks are on the disc in the form of standard midis, the file I am looking to extract is probably a standard file if I can just find a program that will extract it. Edit: The music on this game seems to have been made on equipment from a company called KORG, maybe they have some sort of special soundfont format(of course at this point I am shooting in the dark so... )

The wavetable is usually well-hidden somewhere on the game DVD. If you are really interested in this, visit www.neillcorlett.com/psf . |

I only know of something to extract the speaking sound from Final Fantasy X, and its a PSX tool. I'm sure that there is something like that out there. I have found the tool before. also I have gotten GigaHeRz's FMV Search & Extract Tool to detect PS2 music before. I dont really know how I did it, but if you are interested I'll find out how i did it again and then post instructions here.
