It's a good program, although... What I was really looking for is a Star Ocean 3 fmv extractor. Velocity 7 asked about this a while back, but he doesn't accept e-mail and hasn't been "active" for over a month. Just wondering if anyone else has had luck with SO3 movies (i.e.: perhaps finding a game-specific extractor?) or know if Velocity 7 got anywhere. Thanks.

For anyone interested, there's a mirc script which converts "/me 's" into " * nickname's whatever" and adds a nice "/my" command. |

Beta 05 released. Read the first post for more info. Remember to comment any bugs you find! I can't fix them if I don't know they exist

errr i think i just found a bug. the executable won't detect any cdvd plugin. i placed the plugin that came with the executable to the same folder with the executable. i also tried peops cdvd 1.1 and renamed it to reader.dll but still it wont detect the plugin one question: whats that cdvd plugin that came with the release? is it a valid reader? oh.. I forgot to explain. The reader.dll is a wrapper dll that lets the program use the other plugins, as VisualBasic doesn't have function pointers. You should keep the reader.dll there, and place your favorite plugins in the same folder.

Strange, but new version doesn't work with non PS2 isos: I tried to make custom vcd from 1 file with virtual drive, v03 works with it and v05 detects last sector as -1, even if I try to enter it manually. And about adding sound setection functions to your program: will they work as slow as cube media player's do? |

That's weird. Did it work with B04? I can send you the last B04 exe if you want to try. And did you try with other discs? Maybe it doesn't work with the custom vcd you are trying. There is a problem with sound detection: there is no standard format in the ps2 (AFAIK). I would like to add 'common' formats, but I don't know the file formats (info will help that). EDIT: forgot to say that the audio data is usually compressed using XA ADPCM, but knowing the compression format doesn't help, because I need either a file header (some unique bytes at the start of the file) that contains the length, or a header and an an "ender".

When I use the program on some games (MetalGearSolid3 and Grandia2 are the ones it has happened with) the video comes out OK for the most part, but it gets a bit glitchy here and there. I was wondering what players/codecs you use to watch them properly(if that's the case) and I think I used an older version of the program so I'll see if that makes any difference. Keep up the good work!

I have done the same thing with metal gear 3 yeah I already have Mega Pack codecs but stil get ONLY videos with no audio and there is glitches, I am still not sure about the colors but i will check them later. The program is fantastic but you need to configure the CDVD plugin to READ A HEAD ( FAST READ ) with 4Mb cache checked or the program will make you sleep while searching but still too good except the sound problem because I dont know what to do to get the sound. Another thing is that i really wanted the sound tracks from MGS3 not the videos because I have searched the net for them but could not find and I have tried MFAudio an it sucks all I hear is some crapy sound and noise. Please GigaHerz try to add audio support! Some suggestions are adding Pause button, adding file sizes in MB,KB,byes is better than seeing 67877644 also if possible to arrange FMV list in size or name or something like that and keep up the good work

I found out that audio stream sometimes contains inside mpeg stream, so CubeMP detects both sound and video as false stream (instead of FMV extractor, it extracts them both as video stream so GLITCHES will appear(this is the answer to the previous post)). Sound is encoded in ADPCM. I just have a suggestion to add sound extraction function (its not important for pss because CubeMP already has this function but for this type of encoding). AFAIK VCD has the same encoding structure but not sound encoding. P.S. GiGaHeRz check your private. |

yair23: If I released the tool for xmas it wouldn't have any changes so there is no point in doing that ![]() F-3582: No one is forcing me ![]() Liquid_Snake: I read your post better, and noticed that you said that the tool extracts the audio as video, and that's not true. The tool extracts the data as it is on the disc. usually a collection of interleaved (multiplexed) streams. If there are glitches in the playback maybe because the decoder can't decode correctly the mpeg stream, or maybe my tool has problem extracting some sectors, but it's not converting the data, the tool extracts it like it's on disk.

I'm having the same problem as Liquid_Snake, except it's happening with Anubis: Zone of the Enders Special Edition and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (Japanese and English versions). Though I'm not keen on the audio extracted as video theory, right now it's just having playback issues, and I have no idea how to solve it whatsoever. :S

Who says that it is not same as on a disk!? Its just the type of encoding same as VCD, but VCD between mpeg2 streams has ac3 audio, and here is ADPCM, so there is no players that can recognize this streams between mpeg2 as audio. As a result some players make gliches and some just skip "not video" bytes.
