It will only work if the data is uncompressed and unencrypted, and the FMVs are in the standard mpeg format.

BTW: I found a bug yesterday: if a stream doesn't start at offset 0, the first part of the data will not be correct.

You can edit the list file and put a 0 in the offset (the second number), but you will have to remove the extra bytes from the begining (not sure how to write that word).

It's already fixed, but the next beta isn't finished yet. I'm adding some new features

My weblog... not like if there was too much to read on it tho.
For anyone interested, there's a mirc script which converts "/me 's" into " * nickname's whatever" and adds a nice "/my" command.

I don't think so. I'm only helping game fans to obtain FMVs.

Ps2 emulation helped me a lot (I wouldn't have done that without PCSX2 CDVD plugins )

Anyone have any idea what movie format Star Ocean 3 (Director's Cut) uses? I can't find any FMVs using this tool.

i've just realized this. if i'm using the version beta02, i can scan my ffx-2 for fmvs, but when i use the version beta03, nothing was detected. can someone check this for me? i'm using pete's cdvd (not the iso) plugin.

in beta3 I fixed a bug that should have made it find more FMVs ... it's strange that it does the opposite for you... anyway, I'm still working on beta04.

figured out the problem, where the option "get the sector count from disk info" was unchecked, so your tool can't detect the actual disk size for the ffx-2 disc. my fault anyway. how about making this option automatically checked? might get easier next time, for someone like me. :P sorry for the problem.

Edit: how about a minimize button? makes it easy for me as i work as i scan for fmvs.

ok... i already changed the setting, and enabled the minimize button... just wait unitl the next beta...

EDIT: I just noticed that if you have winxp with the visual styles disabled (classic style), the program will not load if you have the manifest file... so if you are using winxp, have the vs disabled, and the program doesn't want to load, delete the manifest file, or rename it. I can't fix that.

Mmm... ?!?

You can call the plugin's "CDVDgetTN" function to get the number of the first/last track, and use the "CDVDgetTD" function to get the infos (track address, therefore size).

To D_Pyro: I didn't change the tab indexes, so they are in the creation order, I will fix that :P

To LuZi: don't know about the german version, but AFAIK, FFX(1) FMVs can't be extracted with my tool...

To Pete: I already tried to use that info, but IINM, games like FFX have fake info about the tracks... I will check that again.

you are right Gigaherz, ffx1 fmvs could not be extracted, but with ffx2 it works perfectly, will you improve your tool so that it can also extract fmvs from ffx(1)?

I tried, but either FFX uses compressed/encrypted data or uses some other format for the FMVs ... I wasn't able to find any valid MPEG2 stream...

EDIT:

To Pete: That's what the plugin says about FFX:

[23:18:48] Disc Type: 20
[23:18:48] Disc Track List:
[23:18:48] *** First: 1
[23:18:48] *** Last: 1
[23:18:48] * Track 1: 0 - 1 - 04:14:0032
[23:18:48] *** End Of List

so it's:
Return code: 0
Track Type: 1 (data?)
Track Duration: 4 minutes, 14 seconds, 32 frames

With other DVDs, the duration is about 77 minutes.

you can try to get a hex editor and paste here some bytes from the beggining, but not sure if that will be of any use...
