I can only give you an answer to question D:

All PSS files are of course encoded in MPEG-2 which would make the extension .mpg suitable. On the other hand the sound is not MPEG standard, therefore the Windows Media Player stays quiet.

You see, the .pss extension makes sense, because PSS files always contain movie data, there's no difference in content.

PSS is slightly different. here is the specs for it

Quote:
Multiplexed Stream
PSS (PlayStation Stream): MPEG2 Program Stream with PlayStation audio or data
PSS: (MPEG2 video) + (ADS) + (DATA)
Each stream within PSS is identified according to a stream type and stream number. The audio or data is
recorded as an MPEG2 private stream.
Element Stream
Video: MPEG2 video Extension: m2v, etc., standard MPEG2 video stream
Audio: ADS (Audio Data Stream) PS2 streaming audio
• PCM format Straight PCM 16 bits 48KHz 2ch
• ADPCM format SPU2 ADPCM (same as VAG)
Data: Arbitrary data

There's a simple solution: Use FFX2MOV (found here). Gigahertz's tool doesn't work on them.

Hi guys, anyone still alive here? XD

Anyways, awesome work on this prog, however I'm having some issues.

I follow your directions, but when I hit 'lStart Search' the program crashes. I tried using my other games too, the same error occurs.

I'm also trying to get the Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga movies but they are listed as IPS or IPU files. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance! Cheers!

one alternative: you have to buy an NTSC or UK PAL Version

So, ¿what should I do?

Exclamation help

I've tried using the FFX2mov extractor, it works fine. I have the two media files, Zanarkand.m2v and Zanarkand.wav, but using Gordian Knot won't work, because the project I make with DVD2AVI is only about 10 seconds long when I open it in Gordian Knot. It makes the finished file, with sound, but it is only 10 seconds long. What should I do?

yeah I got the same problem.. I tried to make a normal DVD (capable for any DVD player) out of the movie disc (metal gear solid 3 - existence)

i got the video files already, with help of gigaherz' extractor... but the sound is still missing.. can anyone help?
there are no pss files and i also tried the method - "extract with the nova extractor and then demultiplex it with pss"
did not work...

the metal gear movie disc kicks ass and I NEED it for my DVD player.. (:

to code one is simple, but i'm not a video expert, so i can't make a "KH to Movie" converter.

the .dat files are easy to convert in Wav, but there is a problem, the sound is longer then the movie,

for Example:
KH2 Intro Movie = ~4 min
KH2 Intro Sound = ~17 min (original Atrac3 )

i don't know what the problem is.
maybe a music expert can say how we can downsample it to 4 min.
