Re: I have Idea for the ps2 emulator

Just because the original Playstation and Playstation 2 differs by only one number does NOT mean they only slightly differ from each other.

Knowing how to emulate a PS1 does NOT make it easy for you to emulate PS2. Having the source code to ePSXe or Connectix VGS does NOT make it easy to emulate PS2. Internally, PS1 and PS2 are ULTRA RADICALLY different from each other.

Re: I have Idea for the ps2 emulator

If that could be done dont you think it were be done right now?
Its easy emulate something that works in software because all you need is a cpu and a poor graphics card just to display something in the monitor. Ths ps1 works like that, in software.
Ps2 works in hardware. Emulating things in hardware means you have to emulate a pc inside another pc. And the ps2 has some things that are done really faster compared to a powerful pc because of its especialized architecture. Take epsxe as an example. It tries to emulate the ps1 in hardware and see how hard have been.

Re: I have Idea for the ps2 emulator

It's an GOOD idea, but the question is how ? PS2 is a higher machine than PSX, and it's hardware totally different [except it has PSX engine inside]. If PS2 emulator [once it ready] can play PSX game, I don't think it's difficult, since it look like backwards compatible. But ... you think it's easy for PSX emulator [or whatever is that] to play PS2 game ? Hey, this one like BIG [really BIG] upgrade and thats difficult man! ePSXe with hardware mode even not 100% compatible with all games. VGS is an emulator that uses software mode, that really crap, don't expect too much from that.

Yeah. Don't do that. No offense, really, but it's obnoxious. He obviously doesn't know better. It's his FIRST POST. So give him a break and maybe do the favor of educating him.
