Did i read right that ps2 emu is coming out? no way I thought our modern computers were not fast enough? We can't even emulate fully the DC yet and we can emulate ps2 in the next couple of months? Is this serious and if true do you think my pc specs will be enough? 1.7Gz AMD 2000 XP 512ddr ATI 64AGP. thanks

Same dev people?

Is this site going to be also the home disscuion of the PS2 emu and also the current PS1? Is it the same people that are developing this emu as are the ones that developed the PS1 emu?

Re: PS2 are you guys serious? no

  • There is an edid button. Please use it next time
  • Yes there are PS2 emus in the works.
  • That's probably correct, the average comupter these days will have trouble as and when it can play PS2 games.
  • We can't fully emulate the PS2 or the DC. The PS2 emus are far from complete, and although Icarus is showing us lovely in game screenshots from DC games, it too is incomplete
  • No, I think they will be hopelesly inadequete. In all honesty, even at this stage, it's pointless to speculate on the minumum specs
  • It already is said home
  • The people behind PCSX2 did PCSX, yes

Re: PS2 are you guys serious? no

razor blade here, took a shortcut to dorkiness, he created a game( we all know dorks love those) and thus annointed with more stars, we on the other hand must spam forums to reach a certain amount of post count to attain a higher level of dorkiness and by god 5000 post more and my stars will turn to purple (just like barney)

I just noticed a forum for PS2 emus sorry for being annoying i'll go away now. When i saw this morning people talking about ps2 emus i got all excited almost wet my pants then came to the conclusion that even if the emu came out today my new PC wouldn't even be powerful enough anyway. 2nd of all i won't be getting a new PC for at least not for a 3 more years. I got to get my moneys worth out of this one. If funny how things are i have so so many games systems and all that stuff but i'm not happy with what i have i have to concern myself with getting this this that that everything i can get my dirty hands on i have so much and some others have so little. I'm happy with what i got and i'll stop worring with what i don't have praz the lord.

Re: PS2 are you guys serious? no

When PS3 comes out youll be able to play PS2 on your PC with PS3 style graphics ... LOL. Thats kinda what happened with ps1 emulators when they almost perfected em.

Re: PS2 are you guys serious? no

its cuz its a 2d title. 3d games look much much better than 2d on an emulator. You silly boy. PS2 will all look good cuz like 95 if not more percent of games are in 3d. thats where pc gets its glory!

I seriously doubt that a PS2 emu tha plays commercial games will come out before a fully working DC emu. But who knows, stranger things have happened. As for wondering if the PS2 emus will ever reach the state of the PS 1 emus, remember what was originally said about Sega CD emulation, "Too complicated can't be done." Now look where Sega CD emulation is today.

ready2rumbelX, Sega CD games are still around but they are extremely hard to find. There used to be a site that carried ISOs of a few Sega CDs that are legally allowed to be downloaded. Be warned though, these files are quite large and would take a bit to download. There is a store called Gamemasters that still sells Sega CDs. I bought VAY from them last year. I don't recall their web address offhand, but if I can find it again I'll post it here for you. Another place to look for Sega CDs would be at thrift store and flea markets. At a thrift store is where I managed to find Sonic CD.
sincerely,
sx/amiga
