Just one simple question!

It's not ilegal having a ps2 bios if you dump it yourself from u're own ps2 right?

Right. But distribution and download of said bios is illegal.

Yeah i know that! I have web page that shows how to dump a bios from u're ps2! Should i post it? Since some ppl have been asking!

No. Reason, yes you are allowed a backup of 'software' and a BIOS is software, but you may only legally back up a BIOS that can be flash upgraded (eg modified), thus you are allowed to take a backup, for yourself, _if_ anything goes wrong, given that a games console's BIOS is not 'upgradable', and there is no _logical_ need for you to make a backup, you are not legally entitled to make your own backup, as in the eyes of the law, you have no need to.

So technically posting that material would be 'illegal', though I may of gotten my facts twisted, I would stear clear of it, even if I don't agree with the 'law' on this subject. As a rule of thumb, if someone wanted to seriously backup there own BIOS, they would start by doing research themselves on google or other search engines.

Hmm I have been away, so sorry about the late response, but yes my site does have a scrollbar, its that blue/white box on the right hand side, just click on it and drag it down

anyway, back to the original question, Im very sure that it it is prfectly legal to rip your own bios from your own ps2, and I think its dtill kind of legal if you sownload a bios that is the sameone as yours, and just say you done it... (thats what I done, yes I do have ps2, I just couldn't be bothered to get my own, lazy b*rd, aren't I?)

p.s I cant wait for PCSX2 .4 to come out, I want to run my bios!!!

Well, as you probably already know : how many % ppl using PSX emu and PS2 emu rip the bios themself? I don't think about 5%, less probably ... the rest is from the master hohoho-I-know-all, google.com.
