About PS2 Coding

I was wondering abit about PS2 coding when i came to think about something.
When you code a PS2 emu what is it exactly you do.

maybe a good understanding of C/C+ and probably ASM.. a lot of technical details on ps2.. much more

reading the available docs over and over again, until you figure out how to do it ^_^ and coding a simpler system's emulator also helps a lot, of course ^_-

With PCSX2, because the authors didn't actually have a PS2 when they started out, they began by writing a program which would read the PS2 ELF file and then try to reproduce the output based on what it looked like running on the real machine. This technique is called reverse engineering, and is tricky to do. You have to have a complete understanding of how everything works, from the rendering to the structure of the object file.
