Looks valid? I suppose, I don't know much about information. To me though, from a purely public point of view - it looks fake.

Well he knows what he talking about from a ps2 architecture standpoint. His knowledge of the ps2 architecture is there. I suppose he could have simply read the architecture documents thoroughly and had the technical competence to compredend them. But you rarely see the fakers pouring over the docs. Perhaps he could be a rare breed of faker that does.

There are other things though.

He is not trying to draw big attention to himself or his project either as the fakers do. He never annouced to the whole world a new emulator is coming.

Fakers usually don't let their projects gestate for that long a period, before releasing them. They usually want a more immediate reward rather than waiting 2 years down the line.

No paypal account wanting donations either.

Is there another Carl Goyette programmer? Or is this Identity impersenation? Its kinda gutsy to make your user name everywhere that of a guy you are impersonating, and plaster it all over your website/forum and others forums, then have the website under your name.

Perhaps I'm too gullible, I dunno but to me he looks legit. Having the open source pcsx2 teams code there kind of as a roadmap could be speeding up his process of developement.

Why is so important to state if XStation is fake or not? I mean let the author do whatever he wants and if you don´t like it then go and make something else instead of trying to prove if real or a fake.

Errr....Everyone is free to use his time as he wants....I don't see the problem...Especially when no one has bugged the author AFAIK.

Honestly isn't it nice that I'm defending carl's project?

I had 25 minutes free time and i felt like using it to something constructive other than spamming the spam forums or being a jerk like budweiser has become recently.

I can do whatever the hell i want, and what i felt like doing is defending his project and proving to the naysayers that his project IS almost certainly real.

Fakers are one of the banes of the emulating scene. They steal the hard work others in order to gain recognition, donations and fame. There have been a dozen fakes going last year. Carl goyettes project as far as i can tell is real. ;p

I will represent the 5 millionth instance on this forum of an established member (heck even admins and forum staff member) putting in some effort into discovering if an emulation project is real. Actually i was pretty sure it was real before doing a simple google search of his name.

Anyways the entire reason i made my prior post was to help Carl and quiet the naysayers.
