Need big help with Rice plugin
Okay, I really am getting angry at how everyone on every website expects everyone else to automaticly know what to do with the Rice 6.1.0 plugin. Could someone please 1. Explain to the DOT all the programs I need for the plugin to work, and if you could, PLEASE provide links to said programs. 2. Please don't post any links to download programs that lead to "Emutalk.net". My computer is having problems bringing up that browser. 3. Explain everything I need to do with the programs to get it up and working. If you could help me with all this, I'd have to thank you. ^.^ |

Since you asked so nicely.... 1) First of all, you need a Nintendo 64 emulator. A emulator is just a special program that mimics how another machine behaves. In this case, a Nintendo 64 emulator is a piece of software that mimics how the Nintendo 64 behaves. That's all you need, you don't need other programs. Some good emulators you can use are: Mupen64 Project64 1964 3) Then you need to place the Rice Video plugin file (its a *.dll file) into the "Plugin" subfolder of the emulator you are using. Also, the plugin's INI file needs to go in the same folder as the plugin file. Any other files with the plugin, go into the main folder of which emulator is used. Then it gets a little tricky. Depending on the emulator, there is different ways to pick the plugin. Since I do not have all day, I'll just explain how to load the video plugin using Project64: a) Load up Project64 b) Go to "options" c) Go to "Settings" d) Then, select the Rice Video plugin, in the "Video (graphics) plugin" dropdown list. It really is that simple. From there you can set up input plugins and sound plugins. |

Hmmm... well, I wouldn't be on an emulation site if I didn't ALREADY have an emulator, now would I? XP Well, I've tried several ways of installing Rice on Project 64, put when I tried putting the files in the plugin section, it says it's missing a file, even though I'm completly sure I had all the required files. I think my download was corrupted... if you could help me, could you link to a site where I can download Rice 6.1.0 that ISN'T Emutalk.net? I'm really eager to update the textures on some of my favorite games. |

If it says you are missing a file, you need to find those missing files and place them in the main emulator folder. I'll put up a mirror on my own server for your Rice 6.1.0 download. EDIT: Linkage Last edited by mudlord; August 14th, 2007 at 11:29.. |
