I'm also looking for a decent Linux Nintendo 64 emulator. Mupen doesn't work well. 1964 doesn't work under wine, Project64 doesn't handle joysticks under wine, and won't load rice video 5.6.0 (which seems to work best in Mupen under wine), and Mupen under wine has great controls, but stutters and has speed issues. I'm on AMD64 64 bit Ubuntu, by the way.
