N64 joypad on PC..... problem....

Hi guys!

Recently, I built an adatper to connect my n64 controller to the pc, following the guide available at emulatronia. Took quite a bit of time & patience, but finally I did it.

But theres a problem! When I install NTPAD (the software used to handle n64 controllers on pc) and I calibrate, the analog stick is won't work correctly, meaning that it is not sensible enough. In games, even if i press it all the way in one direction, it acts like it's pressed 40-50 %, and the player, for example, walks instead of running.

I'm sure very few people know something about this issue, as I don't think lot of people use the n64 pad on theyr pcs, but I hope someone can help.... thx in advance and sorry 4 bad english.

Have you checked for new driver updates on there website? I think it's a software. Could you contact the company you got it from and ask them or suggest them to make a driver update to fix it? Hope this helps.

Unfortunately the driver (NTPAD) is homemade and discontinued since 2003, I didn't buy the adapter from any company, I built it from scratch following the guide I found @ emulatronia.com

I tried varoius versions, but it didn't work, It must be a prob with my pc, because it isn't a "known bug" or something.

I would just need a way to manually tweak the sensivity, becasue its not a bug in the adapter, it's a bug in the calibration software that doesnt set the values correctly.

Is there anyway you can get the calibration driver form another driver and set it for that controller? I would try it on another PC and see what it does. I calibrated my Joy stick because it was turning to the side, then later I wiped my computer and it was straight still. Seems like I got on my other OS and it was straight on it also. It seems like I read about the adaptiod (it does the same thing, but it's hard to find) and a guy reviewing it said that the joy stick only went 40-50% also but he said it wasn't in the known bugs. I'll try to find it as soon as my internet stops acting up.

OK, I found that installing the 1.1 ntpad driver instead of 2.1 solves the sensivity problem, but the old driver has another problem: it de-calibrates itself while using it........ bah......
