play n64 roms on n64 (correction)

okay, i downloaded some N64 DEMO roms from the net and im kinda sick of playing them on my pc right .. so i fished out my old 64 from the closet and now im wondering.. how can i play that DEMO rom on that classic 64 console.... i did some research and found doctor v64... some thing u put under the n64.. then theres a cartridge called v64 junior (im assuming its the same concept as flash gba cartridges.... and im thinking "gorgeous" till i see the price.. both are 230$us or more...and for that price, i might as well buy a damn wii and wave my arms around like some retarded inbred monkey having a seizure. i mean cmon, the n64 is long gone.. shouldnt these kinda things cost like 50$ or so ?? if anyone knows a cheap website or an alternative to let me play my DEMO rom collection on the console.. plz.. dont hesitate 2 msg me...otherwise i have no choice but to invest in a wii and a monkey suit

regards
chris

There's a nice edit feature btw. Although I doubt you would even want to pay $50 to play N64 demos (which are all pants) on the real console, I'll entertain your post.

Doctor v64 and such devices are vintage and very rare. Some might ask why SNES consoles in good condition go for £50 on eBay when you could get a PS2 for the same price. I think it's kind of obvious.

If you don't want to pay for the service, then I advice getting a TV-out card and an adapotoid (meaning you can play the games with a real pad on your television).

currently my pc is hooked up to my lcd tv so no issue with that... but still.... not quite as authentic..... i was just wondering how those items worked

i imagine the v64 u have to burn ur demo roms on a cd and it loads up from there.. and the eb64 (the cartridge) or wtv that is... connects to ur pc thru a parallel port and u upload thru there.. just guessing... so its pricey cuz bung enterprises shut down... am i right ?

any input would be greatly appreciated

thanks

You don't have any alternatives (in regards to cost) if you want to load your "demos" on your console. It's crazy, I know. Who'd have thought piracy would be so expensive?

It's a flash cart, exactly like it says. But it's very, very expensive, like dxn noted.

Seriously, no one in their right mind would pay that much money to play demo ROMs for the "authenticity". Even though everyone knows you're full of crap, you got your answer.

So you can spend a crapload of money to get what you want (the devices are out there), or just use TV-out.

I have the worst adapter ever, that I bought for 10 bucks at Lik-Sang a few years ago, and the PSX part of it died...but the N64 part lives on. It's cheap. Get one.

You can get a GREAT adaptoid (check the ZDnet referral page from our site, actually) for like 30 something dollars. IIRC, it even supports the peripherals, like rumble and memory card. $30 versus $300 seems like a no brainer.

And it's true that N64 emulation isn't perfect. I've been wanting to play Rogue Squadron in high res (there is a cheat in game for super super high res) but it's not supported. Bummer. And stop being such a ****, we know that you're playing retail games. Ok? So drop the charade.

I just don't really see the point in spending like two or three hundred dollars so you can download a few ROMs that you want to play on your N64. Just go to eBay and get the legit games, it'll cost you a lot less and be a lot easier than trying to go the pirate way.

And if you REALLY are trying to play demos...I don't think I have anything else to say to this thread.

I find the illogical game you're playing to be very immature as well. Why are you so resistant? Anyway, I already laid out your options, I did make an honest effort to help you out

Yeah, his is probably the best. But it came along after I exhausted all of my possibilities. You can't say that I didn't try, eh?

You're not an admin, you're not a mod. You have no authority to say when threads will get closed. You only have the authority to post, and since this isn't the bin, you don't have the authority to spam either.

Another one? What's wrong with the Recycle Bin? Keep the spam in there, thanks.
