Emulator: Either Project64 or 1964, either one should run the game well. Game: Dump it from your own cartridge .Plugins: Get them here.

it can easily fit into your cd-rom drive. You might have to force it down a little and to be scared of breaking anything, it will work. It also can fit in the floppy drive, it just might be a little slower loading.

There's a special device used for dumping the contents of N64 cartridges. You could probably find one on eBay.

the cheapest way is to get an older N64 gameshark (NOT the newer ones). you can find plenty of help through PJ64's website, among others.

the only advantages are the high resolution (and AA/AF and such) to make it prettier. and you'll suffer from worse controls, unless you have a USB N64 adapter.

Maybe our friend could buy the cartridge from somewhere and then download the ROM image again from somewhere without the need to buy all that stuff to dump it on his own... Would that be illegal too? Just wondering... Last edited by acepower; November 23rd, 2005 at 17:09.. |

It's dump ![]() Technically speaking, it would come down to downloading exactly the same data, however, you are allowed to make a backup only of your own game, not someone else's. So that's the problem, and also the reason why the "I've downloaded the image, but I own the original cartridge" doesn't count as a valid reason here. It will still be treated as piracy.
