I have nothing against you Dominator, but the fact is that I don't need to use SupraHLE now that PJ64 is here and rocks my world
.Anyway keep up the good work,I know some people need you .

I've just downloaded the new SupraHLE, and I'm gonna test it now. Dominator, welcome to this forum, and keep up working as you always did. I really like SupraHLE and it's one of the only n64 emus that run in my pc(just like Raz said, some people like me need you).

Well, I can understand that some persons believe that Supra Hle doesn't deserve its own section since it is not an emulator I have coded from scratch.
What makes it particular to me, and I know it is not easy to catch if you are not aware of what it takes to reverse a binary file, is that it show howpossible it is to bypass its original limitations with reverse enigeering methods. And we are not talking about hacking a commercial program here. I feel like we can really talk about educational purpose. At this point, Supra Hle already include some different subroutines and these routines are 100% pure assembler. It cannot slow down the emu .. There are also quite a few things end users can't see like, when I find out some unuseful parts of code, I simply rewrite those and replace with OPTIMIZED asm routines .. without even mentionning it. Slowly, but surely, Supra Hle goes different. But it cannot be an UltraHle 1.x.x. even if RM told us that he had no problems with the idea, it is not the will of the original authors. Also, there are now too many different features and differences for just creating an external patching program such as UltraHLP. Last but not least .. Just think about it : check around and ask about the incredible amount of persons who thought this WAS not possible to reverse AND modify the emu. They were prolly as many as those who said that N64 emulation was not possible. It comes from a weird project .. and simply fits in the quite original emulation community. Thanks for your attention and support.

If it's so advanced, why not write it from scratch? Surely there are limitations to what you're working with..
(Not a sarcastic question, mind you).

how possible is "writing from scratch", i mean u know the emu pretty well Dominator. then u could develop your own source. it could be like emulating a n64 emulator, hehe. nah seriously though, is it possible to sort of replicate, or build a similar emu to uhle with ur own source, or is it almost impossible without the original source code which epilison probably has hidden in his pc.

I didn't mean write your own UltraHLE-clone (UHLE isn't that great anymore.), I meant write your own n64 emulator..

from scratch
I don't feel like an astonishing coder and there are still a lot of areas where I wouldn't be efficient enough. For instance, I'd be absolutely unable to build a gfx engine of my own.
There are sound and gfx plugins here and there. True. But so many emulators are already using these plugins. However, once I won't have any fun playing around with uHLE, I'll think about wether writing something from scratch OR join another existing projects (numerous offers on that side also).
