Now that DirectX9 already came out, but Jabo video plugin still stuck at Direct3D7, I wonder when the creator of Jabo Direct3D plugin will come out with D3D8? Or maybe there are some other video plugins that are more BETTER than Jabo plugin???

so, what's the poiont? its sort of like saying that pete needs to make a directx8 plugin as well. the point is that the directx7 api could probably handle it

Probably never at best. I'm probably being too pesimistic but N64 emulation hasn't really moved forward in a long time.

As far as I know, Jabo has quit the N64 emulation scene, leaving PJ64 source , but he didnt do that same with Jabo D3D Yours, -Elly

Jabo is still helping out with the development of PJ64......but yes, N64 emulation has slowed down, but just hope it'll pick up. UltraHLE 2064 and 1964 are also being worked on, so just a little patience..... ![]() ready2rumbelX

I doubt there's a need for a DirectX 8 plug-in for any currently existing emulator. If it ain't broke then don't fix it.

Actually, ppl tend to like upgrades, when there is something new, they would like the new thing. just like when DX9 is out, everyone downloaded it to replace DX8.1 or maybe the new GeForceFX is out, everyone want to throw away TNT2 or GeForce2.

Violenb: N64 emulation dead? Read this thread for a very good discussion on the topic ![]() http://www.ngemu.com/forums/showthre...threadid=34461 Navilinl: As for a DrD 8 Plugin from Jabo, it will not happen any time soon. The compatibility of Jabo's existing plugins are sufficient by far and more effort would be mostly wasted. I agree, people love updates (myself included but when the work is weighed out against the benefit and it doesn't balance nothing happens.Ready2RumbleX: PJ64 is a 'done' (I'm not going to say 'dead') emulator. It is 'finished'. No more work is being done on it by Jabo or anyone else. T he current release is the last one. meow. |
