Question Any chance rom become legal?

I wonder when rom will become legal, maybe in 5 years to come? 10 years? Or am I dreaming too much?

I noticed that most of the teens in my country never heard of Nintendo 64 before, it was a sad thing. N64 got so many great games like Mario64, Zelda64, Goldeneye, Banjo Kazooie etc, but no one in my country has ever played it, aiiiii what a waste.

Maybe Nintendo can consider publishing the N64 games in GameCube format, or impossibly, in PC format. Whatever...

You have to wait one hundred years after the original release to become public.
And for your second question, zelda 64 is being published in gamecube. Does those kids know psx? If not, go and ask them were have they been.

i don't know, starfox 64... that game just beats any of my psx game.

but yea... the 64 barely had games, but it's small game library more than makes up for lack of games.

really, quality games and fun games = nintendo

It had a few really great games. Mario64, Zelda64, ZeldaMM, Goldeneye, Mariokart64, Pilotwings, Bomberman64 and about a dozen more. There weren't many, but the few that were fun were reaaaaaaaaaaally good... short, but good.

That was the problem. Psx had exactly in that time atleast the triple of good games. Thats why n64 lost the console war.

ROMs become public domain after around 80 years IIRC. That is if a remake is not made. Example the 80 years for FF1 now starts from the release of FFOrigins, not the original NES Cart.

Actually, a lot of the older console roms have become legally available for download.. It really depends if the game companies decides to make them legal.. But I don't see the big N makin n64 roms legal for a while..

Most of the Snes roms are legal, except certains games which are still protected by copyrights (mostly Squaresoft's, Capcom's, and Bandai ones)

Roms are not illegal to a certain point.
If you use it as a backup of a game you origionally own , then their is no harm being done. If you however use a rom of a game you do not own then it's illegal.
As for a fact if you are using a rom no matter how old/outdated or what else is wrong with it , it's still considered illegal , and will only be considered legal if the company condoles the use of the roms.

Which I don't think will happen ever.

It's illegal to distribute it hoever, so you'd in theory have to extract it yourself.

I don't think so, it's merely that those companies particularly crack down on them.
