Exclamation source code

i hate how you there are all these competing emulators they are all striving for excelance but if they gave the other emulators their source code then they could all advance the idea should not to be to compete but to help each other

This should be in everyones best interest

oh post yay or nay

I don't understand your point completely, but there are a lot of open-source N64 emulators:
- Project 64
- 1964
- Deadalus
- Mupen64
Probably some others I forgot...

i mean

there are lots of open source ones but do the coders of the other ones get the source of one and add it to the other

eg
a coder on 1964 get code from Deadalus and adds it to 1964

if they did that there would be a lot of improvem, ent in a short time

You forgot TR64 and the GLide64 plugin.

Almost every N64 is opensource, and most authors comuniacte.

It happened recently, the Unofficial Daedalus D3D8 plugin has been developpped by Rice (from 1964), based on the official Daedalus plugin (made by StrmnNrmn).

The decoding of the Banjo and Tooie ROM has been done by Azimer (from Apollo, also known for his audio plugin) and Tooie, from the PJ team.

The authors always talk between them, don't think that they keep secrets and just compete. If someone finds out something useful for everyone, they share the info (like Azimer did with Banjo Tooie). But not everything can be implemented with every emulator. They are all very different (different programmer, different code), so it's difficult to find something that applies to all of them.

basically, you just have to choose which emulator runs best on your system. you can't just choose one just cause it's compatible with a bunch of games.
