Action Replay questions...
Hey,
I was looking into getting either a Gameshark or Action Replay in order to save my games in Pokemon onto my PC. Can you do this? Specifically, I would like to be able to save the game on Sapphire that I have invested some 400+ hours in onto my computer in its' entirety. Then I would like to be able to let someone else start a new game on the GBA and play for a while - save their game to the PC - and then re-load my previous game back onto the Sapphire cartridge. Can either Gameshark or Action Replay do this? And if not, is there any other system available that could? I also own a Gamecube with the Gameboy Advanced player. Does the Action Replay for Gamecube save GBA games, too? What would be my best choice? Thank you in advance! Jim |

Gameshark is the American version of Action Replay. Action Replay is produced by the UK based company, Datel Design and Development. Datel terminated their contract with American distributer InterAct, and now distribute Gameshark themselves under the Action Replay name.
Yes, you can use it to copy saves to you're computer. Also, using the tools that I wrote, you can convert to/from emulator formats. Xps2Sav: http://www.ngemu.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45669 Sav2Xps: http://www.ngemu.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54130

I got Action Replay today, but all it is is a small piece of hardware that attaches to the GBA. It is a neat program, but there weren't any cables with it, or anything in the box about how to save cartridges or even how to connect the thing to the computer. Did I get the wrong thing? Jim |

Mine has a USB connector on the side, and can be connected to a computer.

they changed it, you'll have to find one with the usb thing. i think
BUT! DON'T USE IT ON POKEMON! pokemon uses 128k saves, but the action replay only saves the first 64! i think i wouldn't let someone reset untell i test the save dump (useing xps2sav and VBA) |
