is it possible to..

im jus wondering if there is any way to convert a .sav file to a .srm file so that rascalboy advance can recognize the current file i have on my game that i have been playing on the visualboy advance.

i want to test the rascalboy advance's linking capabilities, it will only recognize .srm files, but all I have are .sav files from visualboy advance.

is it possible to convert the 2 forwards and backwards?

No, but if you send me a SAV and SRM from the same game then I could maybe write a converter (no promises).

thanx for replying, scottlc. anyways, it seems like you're really good at coding converters based on the comments i saw from your xps2sav program.

i would appreciate if you could make a converter that can do that, but i know that it's not easy to write such programs. so if you want the challenge the save files are from pokemon ruby, but they're not identical when it comes to where i saved at. i also uploaded my save settings for vba and rba, if that can help you. (for some reason the default settings for rba didn't work, so i had to change it. the new settings dont work for all games though, ex. zelda-link to the past)

if it's too much of a hassle, jus forget about it. it's not really that big of a deal. thanx for offering to help though =]

sorry to bring up an old (very) thread but...

I was having the same problem with my .sav's and .sram's and was wondering if any work was ever completed on this converter.

Thanx a lot,

Lol, I can't believe someone found this topic. Anyways, it's irrelevant now since VBA Link can do what I wanted it to do with .sav files.
