GBA Blocked- Frozen

Can anyone help me. Whilst playing on his G B A my son's console suddenly froze and now we can't use it as there is a big black patch on the screen. Why did happen and can it be fixed

all the pixels died? O_o
weird...your best bet would be either to go to the store you bought it or contact Nintendo...
