I downloaded No$gba 1.4c and I set it up and everything, hoping to trade a Pokemon (same cartridge). However, it's not the link function that's not working; it's the fact that no$gba does not recognise the battery (.SAV) file in the "BATTERY" directory, that was exported from VisualBoyAdvance (the emulator which was used for Pokemon game). If I put the ROM in "SLOT" and start the game, it says "The save file has been deleted...". The only other option would be to export my position as a .SGM from VBA (instead of battery) and load it from No$gba, but it only supports .SNA, so how would I convert it? And, yes, I have tried exporting it as Flash (.DAT) battery as well.

I've never used NO$GBA, but from what I read on the website, it was not meant to be used to play games. Maybe that has something to do with it. Is this Pokemon game for the original Gameboy, or only for Gameboy Advance?

Martin Korth just makes really good emulators with debuggers but hates calling them emulators because then people might think they play games. Which they do. Really well.
Since this is an old, pirated version (the latest version costs a phenominal $5000) it's possible that the link emulation isn't complete, it probably uses a weird format that nothing else will ever recognize, it's probably better to use another emulator or the real hardware. Oh yeah, companies never use NO$GBA either. They're not stupid enough to pay $5000 for emulator. They use real SDKs for development, and sometimes use VisualBoyAdvance for testing (really!). |
