No sound
I don't get any sound in version .26, .27, or .28 (I haven't tried any older versions). It makes no difference what games I play on it, other emualtors play sound fine, rebooting has no effect. I have sound enable checked, and I have all 3 of the sound channels enabled (dsoundA, B, and GBC sound). Is there anything else I can try adjusting?

Re: No sound
Well, I guess you talk about the original BoyCott Advance from Gollum. It could be a DirectX problem. Reinstalling DirectX may help.
Otherwise, check if BoyCott Advance/SDL v0.2.8 R1 has the same problem. It uses DirectX 5 (or higher) on WIN32 systems, it could be worth a trie. Grab them from http://sdlemu.ngemu.com. Warning, the SDL series are commandline based

I doubt that it's a problem with DX, unless it's something really wierd and rare. Nothing else that uses DX on my sytem has any problems. I've tried the SDL version via the GBAFE frontend (I hate commandlines) and the sound works ok there.

Re: No sound
1) I'm not an idiot, and would have checked my speakers if I was getting no sound from other programs too.
2) If my speakers weren't plugged in and turned on, I wouldn't get sound from any other program. As I have stated in both my previous posts however, I am not having problems with sound in other programs.

Re: No sound
Ok, a last post until I got to bed
![]() Check your speaker setting in the Control Panel, it's possibly that Windows has set the volume to zero. Check that the Wave volume is also set to maximum (otherwise no sound). If my port works with sound, it's definately not a soundcard/driver problem. But on the safe side, reinstall DirectX and upgrade your soundcard drivers. On the other hand, you could stick to BoyCott Advance/SDL which has the very same core, about 99% of the windows features except a GUI. Just wait for Aldo's frontend update which could soon be available if he getches the news about the release of BoyCott Advance/SDL v0.2.8 R1 :P

Re: No sound
Zerocopy- The attitude instead of gratitude is because quite frankly, that was a dumb suggestion. (Like when instructions that are inside the box say "step one: open box, step two: find instructions".) If he had read my posts at all. A loose connection in the speakers would affect ALL sound from ALL programs, except for the modem speaker and PCI speaker. Since I clearly stated more than once that I'm not having sound problems with any other programs, a loose connection is very obviously not the problem.
nwagenaar- Unless something in boycott advance is changing the volume when it comes on, then changing it back when it shuts down (I've seen MAME do that with the num lock), the volume settings can't be the problem for the same reason that the speaker connection can't be the problem. If the volume got turned down too low, it would affect ALL programs, not just the one. It's possible that there's some odd little glitch in DX that's affecting just that one prog, although since sound works in the SDL version..... Edit: I checked the volume while the prog was running and it was fine. I tried turning off frameskip, I tried various combinations of 1 and 2 of the sound channels, I tried reverse stereo, I tried using bios/not using bios, I tried having "skip bios" on and having it off, I tried turning sound off then back on again. (...and yes, I reloaded the rom after changing the bios settings.) No luck with any of it.
