Playing burned NGC games on Wii

is it possible to play a gamecube game burned to a regular dvd on the wii or does it have to be the small dvds? sorry if this is the wrong place for this i dont see it fitting anywhere else better though.

Not without chipping the console... and thats something we wont get into.
But you know... I'll assume you own the original mini-DVD and guess what? The Wii can read them

this could be useful if i make a back-up of a game i have, but dont have any mini-dvds, and the original becomes unreadable.

you don't need mini DVDs when your wii is chipped.
You can use standart DVD5s, and you can even put more than one game on it by using gcOS.

Thats all what i know, i never had a chipped wii, and even not a wii anymore

Moral of the story, take good care of your discs. Don't use them as Frisbees or beer coasters. Put them back in their case when you're done and there's nothing to worry about. Do keep them away from kids, those creatures are most hazardous for any game that does not come on cartridge

And for that reason I always take EB up on their extended warranty offer. They replace the disk no questions asked.
