Could the GB Player be used to load stuff onto gamecube?
Obviously the gb player can access at least some things on the gamecube(well, the controllers, and judging by how the original metroid in zero mission didn't have flickering like the ecard version of donkey kong it can possibly detect and change the resolution), so maybe homebrew stuff or emulators could be loaded through a flash cart and access the gamecube hardware?

I don't think the GBA is powerful enough for that. But I don't know for sure so you may be lucky. Having said that, people would probably stick to the PSO method because its a lot cheaper(1 game instead of gba+flash cartridge). Oh well

PSO method is $50 game plus $40 adapter, and you have no permanent storage. This would be $50 gameboy player, plus the cost of a flash cart, and you'd have permanent storage and wouldn't need a computer nearby to load stuff.

How much memory could you possible need for homebrew stuff? Most aren't that large, besides prices will fall. DC homebrew stuff really took off cause you could just burn a cd and pop it in, while gamecube well never achieve that got of success in homebrew, I think flash carts through the gba would help a little bit.(probably bring it up to about the level of ps2 and xbox for homebrew)

above xbox homebrew? xbox is far supassed ps2 and is very close to what the DC has which is incredible due to the lack of a japanese fan base. Only thing is ... its ALL illegal
. IMO xbox homebrew is easy... i doubt the GC will have a large homebrew base however, the techniques involved are to long winded for it to be worth while... |
