Re: Gamecube Dvd

yeloazndevil is correct...it's not a DVD or a CD...it is a proprietary disk format created by Panasonic with encryption by Nintendo...no drives other then the GC / Panasonic Q can read it

Re: Gamecube Dvd

You can still dump the contents of a gc disc though ... thus encryption/protection is partially beaten.

You can't burn it. Know how CDs and DVDs turn one way? GC discs turn the other way. You tell me if you can beat that, without using firmware of some sort, and I'll gladly give over $1 million US.

Well, it depends if you work for Nintendo or not!

Seriously, you can't rip a Gamecube Disk in the way you normally do with a CD for example - so don't even try doing that. There are posts all over the place about the Phantasy Star Online exploit, so I won't bother explaining it. Use the search feature of this forum or Google.

Re: Gamecube Dvd

People people let's clear one thing for once and for all :

- The GC discs don't spin backwards. Some people suggested this but I've seen a gc transparant top (where the game goes in) and it spins like any normal cd/dvd drive.

Advise to Sonicjam : Please don't speak in jibberish just explain it in a more understandabler way then u just did , I ain't pestering you about your English (I ain't perfect at it as well) , but next time please make normal sentences.

Yeah and that means ?
"People can the gc emulator" ? I don't understand you on this.
As for encryption what do you mean , there are Iso's of GC games on the Net already so you see encryption/protection has been partially broken.

I was merely trying to help you my friend and only because I couldn't quite clearly see what you meant.

From what I have seen with the PSO backdoor exploit, I think its pretty much been defeated. I don't really know where they would go from here.

no sonicjam u don't understand no dvd-rom drive can read GC disks. the only way to rip a gc disk is to use a actual GC and using the broadband adaptor. the GC decodes the encyption and with the broadband adaptor the data gets dumped on your pc. but u need special software to do that. and T.O.F.K.A.Z. was only advising u not to type in gibberish don't disrespect other members please.

Thanks for backing me up Yeloazndevil and Chrono aswell. (almost forgot you , my bad )
Thanks for clearing this up to sonicjam , ah well he'll get used to our ways od reacting sooner or later I guess.

To Drack well the other form of encryption would be the thing the emulator has to decrypt so it emulate it (I might be wrong on this though).
