I am sure the devs will ignored people like him and continue what they wants to do. We applaud them for doing a great job.

I am i NO way defending that attitude, but you also have to wonder the age of the guy/girl who said that (physical age, MENTAL age
). Don´t forget that kids get too excited sometimes (NINTENDO SIXTY FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOUR anyone?) and tend to focus only on what they care for or want.Also... "some" politicians do the same ![]() Back on the subject, i´d like to add that the gekko team has all the right to look at dolphins code, and that is a plus if it will help the project anyhow (not by STEALING, but just looking at other coders ideas/ways/workarounds, which can never harm anyone). As i understand it (correct me if i´m wrong), this is a community in the most positive meaning of that word. Authors have a lot to learn from each other as long as respect and honour are present. And to whoever said that, i have 2 things to say to him/her: 1- Did you intend to be helpful but you didn´t write the right words? If that´s the case, try to be more polite next time please ![]() 2- Dolphin may give better FPS now, but as in any other console, every emulator is strong at some points. Let´s wait and see what Gekko´s are, and not judge it by something so "superficial". Maybe by the time of it´s release, Gekko will have the best graphic or sound plugin ever seen. Or not. But as far as respect is there, emulators will continue to grow. The same could be said about every aspect of... well, everything. Sorry for the long post

rom kiddie, I'd say. Why else bug Gekko people about Dolphin if not ?
This isn't some sort of competition or popularity contest. Dolphin source code available or not, I have faith that no reasons exist that would not let gekko be as great as Dolphin, when it's *considered* ready for prime time.

Sorry about the slight dig. I think you are absolutely right, kids should NOT use the internet! They are not mature enough, they get a sense of negative self esteem that makes them surprisingly cocky...I hate that. They hide behind their nick, and think that they can let common sense slide, and acts like idiots. They simply don´t have the maturity to be allowed online.
However, that doesn´t mean ALL kids are like that, but i honestly don´t think kids should be exposed to it to early. They will miss out a lot, they will waste their childhood. And although they are not in front of the computer ALL the time, they still waste a lot. Don´t do that. Childhood is for innocent play and fun, not being stuck behind a computer... Eh, on topic, sorry for getting a bit to into it: The guy should be ashamed. I´m sure the devs have gotten used to something like that, but it has to cut deep sometimes...The Gekko team, although not up to par yet with Dolphin, has done a fantastic job. I donated twice

I'll pretend that you didn't bump a 2 week old thread to say that minors are being mentally ailed by using there computers. You should realize that there are numerous things besides video games that minors can indulge themselves when utilizing computers. Especially if there career interest cross roads into something pertaining to computer technology. Now I think it would be a safe measure to hide behind my nick, get rid of my logic, and act like an idiot.
You sir are a communist, and I'm a minor.

I think not. Note that i said SOME kids, that can be as little as 1% total. It depends. Minors are ok, i am talking about little kids, like 4-8 years. I see 4 year olds with cell phones, for crying out loud! It is not normal, i know our civilization has advanced much further over the years, but NOBODY can convince me that a kindergarten kid playing games on a cell phone is normal.

Hey i'm that guy who posted on gekko forum and i'm very please to discover that i'm being criticize here, in this forum...
However i still think it's quite sad not to use dolphin work to improve gekko interpreter... (since dolphin is far far better at the moment) Just to know.... don't u wonder what number "88" in my nickname means?? (it means 1988, my age)... So "genius" please don't offend people if they don't agree with your opinion. Emu authors, have a personality (.. i hope) and I think they should listen to suggestions without offending and thretening to stop they work!! ... if a person can't simply express an opinion... it's dictatorship Last edited by EmanueleITA88; August 27th, 2008 at 10:40. |

Personnaly, No one cares about your age (and I also wonder why some here talked about this). There are way to say the things. You don't have the way.You want Gekko to improve? This is your aim? That is not the mean to reach it. Seems also that you don't have any clue about the difficulties of coding an emulator and simply for coding too. If you don't know, first learn, try to make codes, then meaby you could start critisize someone else. You can express your opinion but assume that she could not be well received too. |

bouhouhou....
its not because dolphin is open source that you can take any peice of code in there and plug it in another emulator. also, what use is there to having 2 emulators with the exact same code? how is that gonna be beneficial to the users? the main goal when building an emulator is to proove to yourself that you can do it. Ripping off someone elses work is not cool. (Exchanging ideas with other devs is something else though). anwiay, enough of this Dolphin vs Gekko stuff. |
