finally? dc emulation is only in its birth stage. i am trying to do something like what project unreality did for the n64 scene - give it a start - although the dc does admittedly have a fair amount of more info but not really for commercial games. anyhow im sure someone else will come along and release a great dc emu =)
atm im concentrating on making it a product for dc developers and those who want to try out dc homebrew stuff who dont have a dc.

I think shiori meant "if this finally works" in terms that it will probably still take a while

Homebrew! Yeah! Yeah!!! I still eventually want to get ahold of a dc, but no tv puts a bit of a crimp on that.

CyRUS64, keep up the good work, because I for one am a believer that the DC console is very much emulatable on current PC hardware. Peeps that say otherwise, well don't listen to them. Yes sure thing, you'll need a good video card, lots of memory and a fast CPU, but none the less, it is possible, and it will be a fantastic day in emulation when, not if, the DC is emulated.

Cheers.

With regards to Commercial Games the DC isn't really emulatable at the moment on current hardware. It'lll take a long time till more than one or two dc games are able to run properly. The dc is much much more complex than say the psx, and it uses some pretty strange and complex techniques, 99% of which haven't even been looked at yet by me. The knowledge contained in homebrew software for instance is only a tiny percentage of what needs to be reversed.

I'm pretty sure you have heard about the add-on card that Sega was supposedly developing for the PC. If I'm not mistaken, it's basically a DC on a PCI card that will let us play DC games on the PC (duh). I wonder whatever happened to that?

I hope it wont go the way of Creative's 3DOBlaster (remember that one?).

Yeah but the point is that it is possible, and if you ask me, on today's high-end hardware. You gotta remember the same was said about the PSX and N64 way back when that was just a distant dream. Then things like UltraHLE and PSEmu came about and showed it was infact possible.

Either way, keep up the good work. I'm sure with enough dedication you'll get there.

well, since sega concentrates on software now and with the dc more or less dead, it doesnt look like it will still come, does it?

Better get a DC+VGAbox

Speaking of getting a DC, they now cost $50 for a new one.

I think it would be cheaper in the long run if you get a real console instead, with the current prices for a DC. Just think, if you saved a dollar every day, then in two months you can actually play DC games, as opposed to waiting 2 months for a DC emulator that won't play a lot of games.

I always support getting the console. Still, I think there is just some thrill to being able to run the games on my pc. Not to mention we're not allowed to have a tv in our dorm room here, so that does put a bit of a crimp in things. Anyhow, paints are expensive.

What's the best DC emulator out there, and what happened to Nightmare?
