No, it wont work. DC games cannot be read by a CD-Drive.

Re: Iso of DC's games.

IIRC GD disc unreadable in PC CD ROM. Perhaps you need to try with DVD ROM.

Re: Iso of DC's games.

It won't work because DC games are not normal CD's. They are GD's and your cdrom can't read the GD. Basically there is no way of copying Dreamcast games with a computer unless you own a Dreamcast SDK with the GDROM Hardware or use a Dreamcast Coder's Cable to connect your Dreamcast to your PC along with some software to dump the image from the Dreamcast to your PC.

Guess it don't matter then if i have a dvd drive in my pc then? So if we can't get the game in the harddrive and any pc can't read the disk then how are we to expect to ever play the emulater with games? I don't understand how it's going to work then.

Re: Iso of DC's games.

They are going to hook their dreamcasts up to their computers, then download them from the DC to their computer using the BroadBand Adapter. Don't say its useless for most people. Everybody should own a DC.

Or.....they coud download the ISOs, but why would you want to do that?

Re: Iso of DC's games.

basically, you set up a network between the DC and the PC. Im not sure how to do it, but IIRC, thats what the general Idea is

Re: Iso of DC's games.

I think you just get a crossover cable and hook up one end to a PC and the other end to the DC (broadband adapter is required for this method). Then you get some software that makes the DC stream the GD-ROM over the cable. Or you could get a coder's cable but it takes a LONG time that way (like 1-2 days or something around that).

Re: Iso of DC's games.

You can use a Crossover cable or BBA IIRC..... You should use the BBA though, I hear that the COders Cable takes FOREVER to dump.

Re: Iso of DC's games.

Some games are small enough to fit a normal CD. THOSE can be copied with a computer.

Re: Iso of DC's games.

You can only copy them normally if you are using a pirated copy, ripped and resized to fit on 700Mb

Re: Iso of DC's games.

Those were both pirate discs then. DC games are released on GD roms regardless.

Re: Iso of DC's games.

like I said. Just because a GD-ROM is less that 700 MB, it doesnt change the fact that its a different format.

Re: Iso of DC's games.

Since this conversation is pretty much talking about ripping GD-ROMS which isn't exactly legal and nobody seems to be locking it, I might as well say that pretty much every DC game has already been previously ripped. If you can't rip your own, you might as well get one that's already done.
