Re: So what is the name of the bios ?

I am not quite sure, but I remember seeing a BIOS named dc-bios.zip, when I expanded it , I got a binary file , Ip.bin . Weather this IS the DC Bios or not, that I do know

Yours,
-Elly

IP.BIN is not the bios file. I don't think the bios has been released yet. IIRC IP.BIN is a file on every DC game that just has info about the game, like the game's name, the version, region code and other info.

The BIOS is 2MB, it exists of course, I don't see why not.

Re: So what is the name of the bios ?

rofl, what Rand said is pretty much an inside joke from Dcemulation.

The bios does exist and is easily dumped with proper connections to the Dreamcast (Coder's Cable and BBA do it I think). The IP.BIN is NOT the bios.... a lot of confusion around there that it is. The IP.BIN simply tells the Dreamcast what to boot (usually the scrambled 1ST_READ.bin).

There also has been people of acussing me that a scrambled 1ST_READ.bin is illegal. It is not, Galoob Vs. Nintendo taught us that if I remember correctly. I will not go into the technical reasons WHY it isn't illegal.... bust just know that it isn't unless the program was made with a pirated devkit.

Re: So what is the name of the bios ?

Even the emu not released yet, how the hell we know we must use the bios or not ... asking something that is not released yet is useless! Better you wait, davv.
