Is it possible for a Rom CD (example: snes roms for DreamSnes) that you burn the disc (roms only, no emulator) and not close the last session of the disc. So that you will be able to burn more roms later on the cd?? Will the Dreamcast be able to read those discs and the roms, or not? 2 The Dreamsnes roms have to be put in the directory /roms. Is it also possible to create sub-directories in that map on my pc, so that I can list roms in a map Alfabetically, so it doesn't take so long to load the complete list?? In other words, can I use maps?? |

um, Galway No Sora, he was asking about DreamSNES , and IIRC, it's for dreamcast, which can perfectly read CD-R/CD-RW ( except some really early beta ones ) Can't wait to get a SCPH50000, i could play my friends DVD's on it!

Re: 2 Q's about Rom cd's (not a request)
Really, it can read RW's??? Woohoo!!
![]() BTW, I tried creating sub-dirs in the /roms map on a rom disc for DreamSnes v0.98 but that doesn't work, it doesn't show the map. |

the dreamcast can not play cd-rws unless u mod it and it is still not know iff you can make it do so. but some people say that they can do it by moding the gdrom drive by ajusting a sertin screw that regulates the laser straingth.

Yes, if you adjust the laser slightly then a DC can read CD-RWs but you have to be carefull.

Re: 2 Q's about Rom cd's (not a request)
you know, if you use DreamSNES you can use a seperate disc for ROMs...thats what i do.
i dont see why you need to have a multisession disc....when you get ROMs just make a collection on a new CD. i dont know how much your CDs cost but i went to fry's a couple weeks ago and got 50 cds for 8.50 USD . everyone says generic CDs are crap....but not for me... |

Re: 2 Q's about Rom cd's (not a request)
Subdirectories = no
Multisession? = Yes, but more trouble then it's worth..since the session is written on a different sector of the disc...the DC will go wacky at times trying to list em..or at times won't read at all.... hushypushy has the right of it....simply create a seperate rom disk...like having a Library 1, 2 and 3 Oh and with the added ROM.LST file...things should look alphabetical and neat |
