Re: I bought a DC

The PS2 pad. Perfect IMO, thus I got the PSX > DC adaptor.

hey, can anyone rocomend a good pad for fighters, or just a good pad in general, i don't like arcade like sticks too much though
Well there isn't... the only pad for fighters is the official DC arcade pad, but since you don't like arcade sticks...

Re: I bought a DC

Not bad, but maybe you'll be best trying to get the PS2 > DC adapter that Kane mentioned... the PS2's gamepad is just the best for everything...

Re: I bought a DC

true ps pad are always nice though I don't mind the dc pad it comes up short in 2d brawlers, or shooters like ikaruga (not that the controls for that game is marvoluos and symplistic andt the same time)

Herrrrmmm... I didn't find uncomfortable the Dpad... and I played for days almost non-stop
indeed, no blisters here, not even after literally DAYS of Capcom vs SNK.

I disagree, the Saturn gamepad was quite good IMO and I've already stated that aside from the analog stick the DC is a great pad as well...

Re: I bought a DC

I guess I'll give my long term opinion after I get that video cable tomorrow (yeah, the guy had an exam today so he couldn't go and return on time, so he is spending the night out of the city)

anyway.... can any of you post some pics with Maxi's moves? (man, I really love the way he swings his nunchakus)

i dont like the Dpad of the DC. and it has 3 less buttons than the PSX controller (good for MGS type games, or even halo on xbox). the saturn controller was good, it was a fancy version of genesis tho

Re: I bought a DC

Genesis was good but lacked in the street fighter department, as for the dc pad it's great for racing games.

The number of buttons is dependant of how the companies use them... Shenmue I/II allowed you to do lots of stuff with only 6 buttons... Soul Calibur played marvelous with only 4... as I said, it all comes to how the company implements the game.

Re: I bought a DC

well, exactly. Super Mario Bros allowed fantastic gameplay with 4 buttons and a D pad. but they never couldve put Halo on Gamecube or Dreamcast without severely hampering the controls.

Re: I bought a DC

I think that the DC pad is quite capable of handling the controls of Halo... I played Unreal Tournament and Q3A and I had little problems once I get used to it...

Re: I bought a DC

I never said that the controls were good, I only said that it was possible... if the creators want they can make/achieve whatever they want...
