Something about GD-ROM

I went searching the web and found this site with a PowerPoint presentation click here for the site . I don't know if you guys saw this already but it pretty much tells you how to make a GD-ROM. I don't know if this is useful or not but it should help.

well,.if you looking for runnig dreamcast cds into Pc cd drives they wont work. PC cd drives cannot recognize the format of the GD-ROM, which is only used by the Sega Dreamcast

they are rips from a group that had tools specialized to rip gd rom so it can burned onto cd, and the isos of the gd rom are spread/ shared at mIRC

i think that when the the cd is duplicated, the exact data is copied, weather its been recognized by the computer's cd drive or not

No, the DC can play rips, but certain versions apparently couldn't
For the most part tho, DCs can play normal CDs

most can. old rips won't work with newer dcs because they were ripped in the data/audio format, newer DCs read cds using the audio/data format, new games that are ripped like that will work fine.

The thing about the Gd-Rom is that the laser can read larger pits in the discs, much larger than normal cds.

I thought the pits were smaller. Thats why you can put a gig on a normal CD

You can play GD-Roms on your PC, a audio track like this will be heard over your autostarting Audio Player : This is a GD-Rom, Donīt play it on other things then a dreamcast... or something like that

*sighs* as I've said 1001 times. DC discs have 2 tracks. One that a normal CD rom can read, somethimes an track is on here, or somethimes wallpapers or other images. The other can only be read by GD rom drives.

You have to play rips, which are read from the DC then sent to the PC either by the serial port (takes days) or via the 100BT broadband adaptor(very few made)

If the have to go through all this hassle to get rips. Then not even have a DC emu which reads from the cd-rom drive. Why waste the time and just play it from your DC?????

There is that, but some people would rather have the option of playing it on PC. That's probably why the DC emu scene has been so slow tho.
