well,....................you can go for it if you want to........but rememebr that, IF , you were able to create one for the dreamcast, you ll need to dump the games from your dreamcast to your PC coz the DC cd wont work on the PC cd drive

yes... but keep the original, and don't tell us how you copied it or burned it ect. and it will take expensive equipment (nuff said)

librab103: for resources regarding DC emulation or DC-related coding, visit http://boob.co.uk and/or http://www.consolevision.com. Knowing C++ alone is not enough to write a DC emulator; you need to have a good understanding of how the Dreamcast works (i.e. the architecture - memory, CPU, tile accelerator, etc). The resources and the pages linked from those 2 pages should be able to help you get started.

gdroms *can* technically be read via many cd-drives. it just takes trickery.

You're right JuniorCRB, some are able to read gd-roms but there are very few of them. I'm not a hardcore coder myself but don't you need a bit more than C++ to create an emulator?

I don't know, but you need to know the specs of the dreamcast and how to decrypt the files in the cd...

Just a thought...

N, DVD rom drives can't normaly run GD-Roms, IIRC, you need some kind of firmware update.

So why do you want an emulator for it?
