does it worth buying???

I was wondering...at this moment Dreamcast is being sold at an extremely cheap price.Would it be wise to buy one?I know that there are many great games for it like Sonic,Shenmue and many others.I'm also interested in various others applications such as MP3 players or MAME emulators that DREAMCAST can handle. So what's your opinion?Should I go for it?I' appreaciate it if you could post any other major pros and cons of DC.

mame doesnt run so good on dc afaik, but there are some excellent NES and MSX emulators for example. Also, I read that it supports DivX and various other video formats so with a bit of luck you can use it as a movieplayer as well.
I recommend to take a look at www.dcemulation.com

Cons:
- no more games will be produced
- there are not as many games as for the PS2, eg.
- I guess online gaming wont work anymore, but I never tried it anyway

Pros:
+ still a very good system
+ only console with a real VGA interface
+ most games are high-quality, you have to search for bad titles
+ over 200 games is still quite good
+ it's so cheap now that it hurts

If you only slightly think of getting a Dreamcast and have enough money to buy one and a couple of games then go for it!

Apart from the DC I also have a PS2 and a Gamecube, and the DC is still my favourite console. Some games even look better than a lot of PS2 titles, especially via the VGA box.

Get some must-have titles like Soul Calibur, Code Veronica, etc, and you'll have fun for a long time.

IMO the DC more than pays for itself, even at the old price. I got one for my little brother and its still fun to play with.

Emus, Video Players, MP3 Players, Picture Viewers, this, that, everything. DCDivX and DreamSNES aren't that great yet though, they run kinda slow and choppy but all will be worked out in time. 50$ is a great price for a system that can do just about everything.

One thing to note is that dcemulation is the lamest site around. They have posted numerous fake emulators and the owner does nothing but tries to make money from it... also there have been many occasions of them putting up pirated s/w on the site... it is really disliked in the scene and the forums are generally occupied by lamers.
If you want news of dc homebrew either visit my site (see sig) or www.dcvision.com
But yeah, get a dreamcast... they have by far the greatest number of amazing games than any other next-gen system...
If you like sport, get NBA2k2,NHL2k2,Virtua Tennis 2k2, and even Uefa Dream Soccer (crap gfx) is much more fun than fifa2k2 imo.
As for other weird games, get Rez,Cosmic Smash, Space Channel 5, Samba De Amigo,etc...
RPG: Skies of Arcadia, Phantasy Star online, Shenmue 1 and Shenmue 2...
the list just goes on and on... (headhunter, sword of the berserk, etc....)
Check out IGN, cuz they all r0x =)
Regards,
CyRUS

buying DC is like having a vintage console coz its the LAST one that SEGA will ever produce in the console scene (unless they change their mind) and the games of DC are worth it...
