Your friend is trying to fool you until unless he meant that he played it in his dreams on an emulator.

None of the DC emulators has reached a stage yet where it could play any comercial games.

There where some decent DC games. Grandia 2, Sonic Adventure + 2, Soul Calibur, and Street Fighter 3.

i like DC for Marvel vs Capcom 2. what are the DC emulators anyway? i haven't found any.

maybe DC emulation would be acquired once comp resolutions have over a 32 bit depth. i just don't see dreamcast running at 1/4 of its graphics.

Considering TV's can't display that many colours, I fail to understand your meaning.
The DC's GPU was a variation on a the Kyro chipset

It doesn't. That is just how many bits the processor can handle at once.
x86 PC CPU's are 32-bit. The GeForce 2's GPU is 256-bit. An ATI Rage 128 is 128-bit. That is not the colour depth they can produce, it is the width of the pathways to the processor.

o. well, anyways, i dont think DC emulation will go much further. i don't meet much people that say "how about dreamcast emulation?" i hear a lot about psx, n64, and gba, but none of dc. if there were more supporters, i guess dc emus would go on, running commercial games.

I would love to see a working Dreamcast emulator. My GameCube and GBA are currently keeping me quite broke, and I can't afford a real Dreamcast.

But I would really like to play some of the Dreamcast greats before they get ported to GameCube.
