Sega only makes games for other systems now. I think they won't make consoles anymore cause they didn't really do very well.

I'll vote for Genesis or Mega Drive as I know it. In fact two games of Genesis I played on the arcade (Shinobi III and Sonic 2) were one of the best. I haven't heard any SNES game making it on the arcades.
Besides Genesis did have worse graphics and sound but was faster in displaying graphics than SNES. Only complain with Sega I have now is that Virtual Striker is a complete crap as a football and there isn't any other football game around in the arcades. |

Surprisingly, the SNES had an 8-bit CPU. It was slow, but IMO, the graphics were of higher quality, and the Sound was incredible.
I think the reason that you said you saw few Snes arcade games is that the popular ones were really RPGs. I doubt taht Arcades would be happy about you spending 20+ hours playing a game on one credit

no, just becasue of the time it takes to beat RPG's and other game types like that they havent been made for arcades. if you go into one (gasp! get off my computer?!?) all you see are fighting and shooter games that a credit lasts for about 2 minutes in. if nintendo had made games like that they would have probably made it to arcade. btw, was the original pac-man for any consoles or just arcade?

Original Pac-man was a top down table arcade machine.

There was a pacman game for gameboy (monochrome, I'm too cheap to get color and gba
). I know cause I have it. It's actually very well done, IMO. Namco released the suite called Namco Museum for N64 I think it has Ms. Pacman. GBA has Pac-man Collection for GBA, that has the original Pacman along with Pacman arrangement (has better graphics, very good game) and other pacman games.

I grudgingly vote for Nintendo's SNES... In my opinion the time of SNES's glory was the highpoint of console gaming... Yes I know games have evolved immensely in graphics and sound, but I just thought there were so many GREAT games back then... actually on the NES too. SNES was a great system, with impressive graphics and sound and had much better games than Genesis.
However, Nintendo are bastards. Because of their stubborness in sticking to cartridge technology and their STRICT and expensive licensing and legal divisions, the end result is high high prices for consumers. Super Mario Brothers III was 75 bucks at Toys R Us for years goddammit!! And FF 6 and Chrono Trigger were both also about 70 or 75 when they came out too... Genesis games were only 50 or 60.

Maybe the prices for SNES games were high, but did you ever take the quality of those games into account? While some of them may have not been worth $75 (actually, I never ever saw any SNES game costing that much, ever), a majority of them did make it worth my money.

I'm sorry but I'm a broke-ass *****, and these days I wouldn't (and COULDN'T) pay 75 bucks for anything, let alone a game. Good thing back in those days most of the games I got were birthday presents and stuff like that. And maybe it's WORTH alot for the hours of fun... but Genesis and PSX games were much cheaper... I'm not denying the quality and fun of SNES games (cause like I said, I think SNES was a great system with amazing games), I'm just saying Nintendo charged that much not because the games were that expensive to develop, but because they COULD charge that much
