I found this:

SNES on iPhone? - Mac Forums

This forum is already talking about the possibility of a snes emulator on the iphone... They said it's possible as it's been done on other cellphones with similar specs...

No need tripleposting.

Yes, it should be *feasible*. Java is crossplatform anyway, but there would be a significant performance hit using it, even after a few months. The controls are also a significant issue. Good luck playing Street Fighter 2 with a stylus

The scene just bloomed. We just start to see homebrew apps, but in all cases, iPhone isn't very handy for emu gaming, if at all.

.... Thanks for actually replying anyways,
I've seen the nes emulator on the iphone and I think the iphone controller issue can be resolved some way like locating the buttons or something... Alot of games don't even use the R and L buttons anyways... Do you think it's possible to optimize it to get full speed on a snes emulator?

Well, you may not need L and R, but I can't even imagine playing Super Mario World with touch controls.

In other words, who cares if it's possible when it's so impractical?

It seems like Hardcore Rikki has said it best. It's almost in the same place as a P800 (On it's early days) currently, a device limited by it's own strengths?? :P

Although, besides a variant of vNES, was there any Java based emulator that worked on a cellphone at all?

I don't actually own an Iphone so I didn't know how the touch screen work... What a bummer... It would be cool to play SNES on the go too.

Meh, link seems suspicious. I would only recommend going to this trusted Touch/iPhone emulation site:

ZodTTD.com: Zod's Blog

I'm waiting for the new iPod Touch exploit to be released for 2G so that I can finally jailbreak my girlfriend's new iPod Touch.

BTW: This thread is more than a year old.
