Putting PS2 and PS1 games on PS3 harddrive?

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what format ps2 and ps1 games use before being ripped off the cd/dvd. Also is it possible to find an app that can rip games to those formats, I am just curious because I was thinking about putting copies of my games on a memory stick or SD Card and transfering them to my PS3 harddrive and playing them off that if anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it thx.

Do you have big enough flash memory to accommodate these files? Could get upwards of 4gb.

The PS3 doesn't run anything but PS1 games converted by Sony, which can only be downloaded through Sony's PlayStation Store. And no, sir, you cannot request a specific game to be converted or put up.

PS1 Games on PS3 is like Virtual Console Games on the wii.
you have to buy them in the sony online shop, even when you own the original one on CD!

So and there is no guarantee that it work without bugs.
maybe the PS3 firmware will be hacked like the PSP 3.XX Firnware, so then there is a little hope to play other games on this emulator.

A little off topic but..,

I've notice that there are no Improvements for ps1 games anymore. Anyone know if this will come back like in the ps2? Or even just a freaking scaler?
