Key Comb, in Zsnes, sorry

I know this is a bit stupid compared to the last question I asked but (on ZSNES) I'm playing super mario all-stars, I'm playing the first mario (the one which automaticly comes up when you start the game when you press start). my question is, in 'Key comb' how do I make Mario face backwords but still jump foward. I'v been trying for ages but all I can get him to do is bounce to the left rapidly
